How to Win at Online Roulette: The Best Roulette Betting Strategies

Many people are tempted to rely on luck and chance when gambling. After all, that is one of the most enticing and addicting things about gambling in the first place. The market volume of online gambling has reached 47.11 billion dollars in the US.

However, those who rely on luck may find themselves fluctuating between winning and losing more than they like. Every game has a strategy. Knowing the best betting strategies will put the odds in one’s favor.

When playing online roulette, the house has a built-in advantage because of the zero number on the roulette wheel. After all, online casinos would not run a game that can be easily won.

There are many different methods and strategies that can boost one’s chances of being successful. And of course, luck and chance will always have a part to play in any gamble.

Read on to learn more about how to win at online roulette.

Magic 8 Strategy

The Magic 8 strategy is one of the most well-known strategies for trying to beat the odds in roulette. The principle of this strategy shows that it has a high probability of coming out on top.

The basic principle of this strategy is that one of the previous numbers is likely to repeat itself in subsequent plays after eight consecutive rounds. When one uses this strategy, it means that one is betting on the probability that the same number will turn up again.

For example, if the previous results were 1, 4, 13, 21, 25, 32, 3, 11, let the first round go by without placing any bets. In the next round, place a bet on 1. The next round, bet on 1 and 4. Then 1, 4, 13. Then 1, 4, 13, 21 and so on.

The strategy is for one to keep betting until one reaches the initial sequence of eight numbers. If one of the eight numbers does come up, let a round go by without placing any bets and then start all over from the beginning.

If it so happens that one doesn’t win at all through this sequence of eight, although highly unlikely, one can up the sequence to eleven numbers.

However, choosing an eleven sequence number is not recommended because it significantly raises the overall risk. The profit probabilities are higher when playing with a sequence of eight.

The Labouchere Strategy

The Labouchere strategy was invented by Henry Labouchere. This system was developed to be used specifically in roulette. It is a negative progression strategy which means that one bet until they reach a specific winning amount.

However, unlike other negative progression strategies, the Labouchere strategy does not aim for one to win back all of their losses with just a single win, it aims to win losses back over the course of the game.

To use the Labouchere strategy, the first thing one needs to do is set a goal for the amount of money that one wants to win. For example, one can set that goal amount at $100.

Once that number is set, one would divide that number up into smaller numbers which add up to the goal amount. So with the example of $100, it can be divided into 10-20-20-5-5-10-20-10-5-5. How the number is divided is completely up to the gambler, there is no right or wrong.

Next, add up the numbers farthest to the left and right, and bet that figure. In this example, one would add $10 and $5, and bet $15. If one wins the bet, then cross out those two figures, and for the next round, use the new right and left figures.

However, if one loses, then don’t cross out any figures, and add the amount that was bet on the previous round onto the right side of the sequence.

So, if the bet in our example was lost, the new sequence would be 10-20-20-5-5-10-20-10-5-5-15. If that round was won, then the new sequence would be 20-20-5-5-10-20-10-5. The idea is to play until all the numbers are crossed out or until one has won the desired goal amount.

There are many advantages to the Labouchere betting system. It is organized and based on a logical probability system. It is also flexible since one can change the betting sequence on their preferences.

The Martingale Strategy

The Martingale strategy is a fairly simple strategy that deals with timing. In this strategy, one changes the bet amount depending on if one loses or wins. One doubles the bet when losing and lowers it to the minimum winning.

For example, if one starts by betting $5 and loses, then the next step is to change the bet to $10. If one loses again, change it to $20, and so on. If one wins, go back to the original $5 bet.

One thing to keep in mind when using this strategy is that it only works when used on a 50-50 option. For example black or red, 1-18 or 19- 36, and odd or even. Another great thing to pair with this strategy is to find a table where there is a low minimum so that there is low risk but high potential.

The Fibonacci Strategy

The Fibonacci strategy is based on the Fibonacci sequence. The sequence was discovered by Leonardo Pisano Bigollo and is where every number is the sum of the two numbers that preceded it.

For example: 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, and so on. When using this strategy at the roulette table, the player should go one number forward in this sequence when winning, and two steps back when losing a bet.

The Fibonacci strategy is also a negative progression betting system, which means that it involves increasing the stakes following a losing wager. The theory with all negative progression betting is that it increases the odds of winning because one is likely to have higher stakes on winning bets than on losing ones.

While all games are structured so that the house can have a slight advantage, using roulette strategies can help increase one’s odds of success. While luck and chance no doubt still have a strong hand in the outcome, using a strategy or a betting system may give the player some control.
